This is the intro to druids, this will explain how they work and what they do.



Druids are great characters for players that like to play lots of different classes.

Druids are shape shifters so you could potentially play as a caster so that you can heal and cause damage with your spells or you could become a warrior, a rogue, or some other type of character class.

It is important for you to remember that regardless of what you choose, you need to pay close attention to your talent tree because it makes quite a difference in the effectiveness of your character.

Druids are great characters but a lot of groups shy away from them because the changing characters can make it difficult for the other group members to know how to act. The uncertainty of a druid’s spec can cause some problems, but there are also advantages. Some groups use a druid as primary healers, but more probably use them as secondary healers. Druids also make good DPS attackers. They can also be good primary tanks and offtanks. If you want to join a group, you just have to know how to market yourself so that your positive attributes seem to outweigh your negatives.

You should also mention to the group that druids buffs add thorns as a damage shield. They also add a bonus to all stats, resistances, and armor. If you are certain to approach the group by mentioning these extra buffs, a lot of them will be willing to accept you. After all, you can’t have too many.

Items and Equipment for WoW Druids

Druids are allowed to wear cloth and leather. They can use all of the maces, daggers, fist weapons, and staves. Many druids prefer the staves because they add bonuses to their caster attributes. The bonuses that come with other weapons are typically more appropriate for other forms. If you are in animal form, you can’t use a proc weapon so you shouldn’t even weaste your time and money getting these items.

You should, however, be concerned with your armor. Bear and dire bear form will multiply your armor bonus. You might not have the money to buy a really powerful enchantment, but an even a simple armor patch can be really effective.

Professions for Druids

There are a couple of combinations that work well for druids. Skinning and leatherworking is good for players that are new to the game because they won’t have the money required to purchase equipment. These professions allow you to make your own equipment.

Herbalism and alchemy is also good, especially if creating equipment doesn’t bother you. These professions can make you a lot of money because you will be able to sell herbs and potions. You will also be able to use those potions on yourself.

Druid Talents

The talents that you choose to purchase can really affect the way that a druid character plays. You should try out new ones to see what kind of an effect they have. When you get the right one for your character it can make all the difference.

Celestial Focus 3 4 None Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting Starfire, Hibernate and Hurricane by {23/46/70}% and increases your total spell haste by {1/2/3}%.
Lunar Guidance 3 5 None Increases your spell power by {4/8/12}% of your total Intellect.
Insect Swarm 1 5 None The enemy target is swarmed by insects, decreasing their chance to hit with melee and ranged attacks by 3% and causing X Nature damage over 12 sec.
Improved Insect Swarm 3 5 Insect Swarm Increases your damage done by your Wrath spell to targets affected by you Insect Swarm by {1/2/3}%, and increases the critical strike chance of your Starfire spell by {1/2/3}% on targets afflicted by your Moonfire spell.
Dreamstate 3 6 None Regenerate mana equal to {4/7/10}% of your Intellect every 5 sec, even while casting.
Moonfury 3 6 None Increases the damage done by your Starfire, Moonfire, and Wrath spells by {3/6/10}%.
Balance of Power 3 6 None Increases your chance to hit with all spells by {2/4}% and reduces your damage taken from all spells by {3/6}%.
Moonkin Form 1 7 None Shapeshift into Moonkin Form. While in this form the armor contribution from items is increased by 370%, damage taken while stunned is reduced by 15%, and all party and raid members within 100 yards have their spell critical chance increased by 5%. Single target spell critical strikes in this form have a chance to instantly regenerate 2% of your total mana. The Moonkin can not cast healing or resurrection spells while shapeshifted.

The act of shapeshifting frees the caster of Polymorph and Movement Impairing effects.

Improved Moonkin Form 3 7 Moonkin Form Your Moonkin Aura also causes affected targets to gain {1/2/3}% haste and you to gain {10/20/30}% of your spirit as additional spell damage.
Improved Faerie Fire 3 7 None Your Faerie Fire spell also increases the chance the target will be hit by spell attacks by {1/2/3}% and increases the critical strike chance of your damage spells by {1/2/3}% on targets afflicted by Faerie Fire.
Owlkin Frenzy 3 8 Moonkin Form Attacks done to you while in Moonkin Form have a {5/10/15}% chance to cause you to go into a Frenzy, increasing your damage by 10%, cause you to be immune to pushback while casting Balance spells and restore 2% base mana every 2 sec. Lasts 10 sec.
Wrath of Cenarius 5 8 None Your Starfire spell gains an additional {4/8/12/16/20}% and your Wrath gains an additional {2/4/6/8/10}% of your bonus damage effects.
Eclipse 3 9 None When you critically hit with Starfire, you have a {33/66/100}% chance of increasing damage done by Wrath by 40%. When you critically hit with Wrath, you have a {20/40/60}% chance of increasing your critical strike chance with Starfire by 40%. Each effect lasts 15 sec and each has a separate 30 sec cooldown. Both effects cannot occur simultaneously.
Typhoon 1 9 Moonkin Form You summon a violent Typhoon that does X Nature damage when in contact with hostile targets, knocking them back and dazing them for 6 sec.
Force of Nature 1 9 None Summons 3 treants to attack the enemy target for 30 sec.
Gale Winds 2 9 None Increases damage done by your Hurricane and Typhoon spells by {15/30}%, and increases the range of yourCyclone spell by {2/4} yards.
Earth & Moon 3 10 None Your Wrath and Starfire spells have a 100% chance to apply the Earth and Moon effect, which increases spell damage taken by {4/9/13}% for 12 sec. Also increases your spell damage by {2/4/6}%.
Starfall 1 11 None You summon a flurry of stars from the sky on all targets within 30 yards of the caster, each dealing X Arcane damage. Also causes Y Arcane damage to all other enemies within 5 yards of the enemy target. Maximum 20 stars. Lasts 10 sec. Shapeshifting into an animal form or mounting cancels the effect. Any effect which causes you to lose control of your character will suppress the starfall effect.

Infected Wounds 2 2 None Your Shred, Maul, Ravage and Mangle attacks cause an Infected Wound in the target. The Infected Woundreduces the movement speed of the target by {25/50}% and the attack speed by {10/20}%. Lasts 12 sec.
Fury Swipes 3 2 None When you auto-attack while in Cat Form or Bear Form, you have a {4/8/12}% chance to gain an extra auto-attack on the same target. This effect cannot occur more than once every 6 sec.
Primal Fury 2 2 None Gives you a {50/100}% chance to gain an additional 5 Rage every time you get a critical hit while in Bear Formand your critical strikes from Cat Form abilities that add combo points have a {50/100}% chance to add an additional combo point.
Feral Aggression 2 2 None Increases the damage caused by your Ferocious Bite by {5/10}% and causes Faerie Fire (Feral) to apply {2/3} stacks of the Faerie Fire effect when cast.
King of the Jungle 3 3 None While using your Enrage ability in Bear Form, your damage is increased by {5/10/15}%, and your Tiger's Furyability also instantly restores {20/40/60} energy.
Feral Charge 1 3 None (Bear) - Causes you to charge an enemy, immobilizing and interrupting any spell being cast for 4 sec. 15 second cooldown.

(Cat) - Causes you to leap behind an enemy, dazing them for 3 sec. 30 second cooldown.

Stampede 2 3 Feral Charge Increases your melee haste by {15/30}% after you use Feral Charge (Bear) for 8 sec, and Ravage will temporarily not require stealth for 8 sec after you use Feral Charge (Cat), and cost {50/100}% less energy.
Thick Hide 3 3 None Increases your Armor contribution from cloth and leather items by {4/7/10}%, increases armor while in Bear Form by an additional {11/22/33}%, and reduces the chance you'll be critically hit by melee attacks by {2/4/6}%.
Leader of the Pack 1 4 None While in Cat Form or Bear Form, the Leader of the Pack increases critical strike chance of all party and raid members within 100 yards by 5%. In addition, your melee critical strikes in Cat Form and Bear Form cause you to heal for 8% of your total health and gain 8% of your maximum mana. This effect cannot occur more than once every 6 sec.
Brutal Impact 2 4 None Increases the stun duration of your Bash and Pounce abilities by {0.5/1} sec, decreases the cooldown ofBash by {5/10} sec, decreases the cooldown of Skull Bash by {25/50} sec, and causes victims of your Skull Bash ability to have {15/30}% increased mana cost for their spells for 10 sec.
Nurturing Instinct 2 4 None Increases your healing spells by {35/70}% of your Agility and increases healing done to you by {10/20}% while in Cat form.
Feral Instinct 2 5 King of the Jungle Tiger's Fury and Berserk also increase your current and maximum energy by {10/20} during their durations, and your Enrage and Berserk abilities instantly generate {6/12} Rage.
Survival Instincts 1 5 None Reduces all damage taken by 60% for 12 sec. Only useable while in Bear Form or Cat Form.
Endless Carnage 2 5 None Increases the duration of your Rake by {3/6} sec and your Savage Roar and Pulverize by {4/8} sec.
Natural Reaction 2 5 None Reduces damage taken while in Bear Form by {6/12}%, increases your dodge while in Bear Form by {3/6}%, and you generate {1/3} Rage every time you dodge while in Bear Form.
Blood in the Water 2 6 None When you Ferocious Bite a target at or below 25% health, you have a {50/100}% chance to instantly refresh the duration of your Rip on the target.
Rend and Tear 3 6 None Increases damage done by your Maul and Shred attacks on bleeding targets by {7/13/20}%, and increases the critical strike chance of your Ferocious Bite ability on bleeding by {8/17/25}%.
Pulverize 1 6 Rend and Tear Deals 120% weapon damage plus additional 290 damage for each of your Lacerate applications on the target, and increases your melee critical strike chance by 3% for each Lacerate application consumed for 10 sec.
Berserk 1 7 None Your Lacerate periodic damage has a 30% chance to refresh the cooldown of your Mangle (Bear) ability and make it cost no rage. In addition, when activated this ability causes your Mangle (Bear) ability to hit up to 3 targets and have no cooldown, and reduces the energy cost of all your Cat Form abilities by 50%. Lasts 15 sec. You cannot use Tiger's Fury while Berserk is active. Clears the effect of Fear and makes you immune toFear for the duration. 3 min cooldown.

Tranquil Spirit 5 4 None Reduces the mana cost of your Healing Touch, Nourish and Tranquility spells by {2/4/6/8/10}%.

Nature's Swiftness 1 5 Intensity When activated, your next Nature spell with a cast time less then 10 sec. becomes an instant cast spell.

Revitalize 3 9 None Your Rejuvenation spell has {5/10/15}% chance and your Wild Growth spell has a {1/2/3}% chance to restore 8 Energy, 4 Rage, 1% Mana, or 16 Runic Power per tick.
Tree of Life 5 9 None Transforms the Druid into the Tree of Life Form. While in this form, all party and raid members within 45 yards receive +6% from all healing effects, but you may only cast Restoration spells, Innervate, Barkskin, Nature's Grasp and Thorns.The act of shapeshifting frees the caster of Polymorph and Movement Impairing effects. Tree of Life Form is immunne to polymorph effects, but the druid is considered an elemental for effects such as Banish or Track Elementals.
Improved Tree of Life 3 9 Tree of Life Increases your armor contribution from items while in Tree of Life Form by {33/66/100}%, and increases your healing spellpower by (5/10/15)% of your spirit while in Tree of Life Form
Improved Barkskin 2 10 None Increases the damage reduction granted by your Barkskin spell by {5/10}%, and increases resistance to Dispel mechanics by {30/60}% while under the effect of Barkskin.
Gift of the Earthmother 5 10 None Reduces the base global cooldown of your Rejuvenation, Lifebloom, and Wild Growth spells by {4/8/12/16/20}%.
Wild Growth 1 11 None Heals up to 5 friendly party or raid members within 15 yards of the target for 1442 over 7 sec. The amount healed is applied quickly at first, and slows down as the Wild Growth reaches its full duration.
